The Road Less Travelled

1)       In a career choice the most important ingredient is passion. without passion the work place will be monotonous and life will basically drone on. In my personal experience, a person who is unhappy with there job will soon resent every aspect of their life, not just their career. My Grandfather worked for forty-five years as a Pipe Fitter and hate every moment of it, he was often working far from home and inable to be with his family. This caused many rifts in the household and he eventually turned to alcohol, becoming an alcoholic. These problems all stemmed from the hatred of his job. Passion for what you do is of utmost importance to have an enjoyable life.

2)      I have had a dream since I was young, It is of me dressed in a uniform working my hardest to uphold law and order as a City Police Officer or an RCMP Officer. I have already been to the career day at the RCMP and I am planning on partaking in a week long training camp in the spring at the army barracks in Vernon BC. I've done all of these thing to prepare myself for life as a police officer. Next year I plan to go to Simon Fraser University to receive my bachelors in Criminology. This step in mt life will take closer than any others to fulfilling my goal of being a Police Officer. I know that the pay is not that substantial and that moving to remote places in Canada in a distinct possibility, but being an Officer of the law is worth it. Also, the retirement pension quite good for Police Officers. I know that I am not suited to be in an office somewhere or doing something that I am not interested in.
